Monastery coffee in the forest area

Monastery coffee, with extremely limited annual production from surrounding forest areas of less than 10 tons, can hardly be considered a proper coffee region. However, the numerous Eastern Orthodox monasteries, churches, religious murals, and myths around the lake area create what might be the world's most "divine" coffee.

European missionaries established the local coffee cultivation industry, which was later taken over by coffee communities or cooperatives in villages surrounding the small town. There are no dedicated plantations here - coffee trees grow naturally scattered throughout forests and fields. During harvest season, Ethiopian coffee trading companies come to town to purchase coffee beans collected by farmers.
