FrontStreet Coffee - Colombia San Roque Monks Washed Introduction

Colombia has three Cordillera mountain ranges running north-south, extending toward the Andes, where coffee is cultivated along these highland mountain areas.

The mountain terraces provide diverse climates, making harvesting season year-round here, with different types of coffee maturing at different times. Fortunately, unlike Brazil, Colombia doesn't need to worry about frost damage. These beautiful coffee beans can grow with refinement and elegance, like wealthy children adorned with jade and necklaces, absorbing the essence of heaven and earth freely and abundantly, while growing steadily and calmly in the Andes Mountains.

Colombia San Roque Monks coffee beans come from Colombia, located at the northern end of the Andes Mountains. The volcanic soil here is rich in nitrogen, providing natural nutrients for coffee crops. At the top of the hills where this coffee is grown stands a historic monastery where coffee cultivation is treated as a serious tradition, following a complete coffee cultivation training system.

This system also helps nearly 100 members of the San Roque Farmers Association produce superior quality coffee. San Roque Monks coffee features bright and captivating caramel sweetness, balanced with black walnut-like flavors that create a wonderful harmony in the mouth.

Every Sunday morning, churches in Oporapa, Colombia gather people who have come on foot or by motorcycle. This living tradition, like the tradition of growing unusual coffee beans, is inspired by the San Roque Franciscan monks. The monastery sits atop a hillside overlooking a valley with volcanic soil, which provides fertile growing conditions for coffee fruits to this day.

This tradition is continued through a group of farmers who grow Caturra, Castillo, and Colombia coffee beans—varieties with a rich history in the region. After complete washing, the coffee beans are placed on raised drying beds. This processing method creates amazing coffee that reveals black walnut and caramel-like flavors.
