Today, I'm sharing with you the steps for brewing coffee using a wave filter. Memorize these steps, and you can easily become a home coffee expert and brew a delicious cup of coffee!

Because the filter paper used with this method has creases similar to cupcake paper, this filter is commonly known as a cake filter. In English, it's generally called Wave, so it's also referred to as the wave filter. The creases in the filter paper replace the grooves for backflow. Because the contact area with the filter body is smaller, it allows the coffee grounds to be extracted evenly, making it very suitable for beginners.

Step-by-Step Brewing Guide

Step 1: Thorough Preparation

Gather all your tools: fresh coffee beans, pour-over narrow-spout kettle, electronic scale, coffee scoop, filter cup and filter paper, and glass pot.

Step 2: The Freshest Flavor - Grind Coffee Beans Fresh!

Freshly ground coffee allows you to achieve the best extraction. The recommended ratio of coffee grounds to water is 1:15, meaning 20g of grounds should be paired with 300ml of water, and so on.

Step 3: Coffee Filter Paper with Filter Cup

The wave filter paper doesn't need to be folded; simply place it flat in the filter cup.

Step 4: Add Hot Water for Blooming

Using hot water around 92°C, slowly pour with the narrow-spout kettle to fully moisten the coffee grounds first. After blooming for about 30 seconds, continue pouring evenly in a clockwise direction from inside to outside, then from outside to inside.

Step 5: Complete Extraction, Enjoy Immediately

Wait for the coffee grounds to be completely extracted. After dripping is complete, remove the filter cup from the stand, shake the coffee liquid in the glass pot to mix evenly, and it's ready to drink.

After reading the above introduction, do you find that as long as you master these five step tips, pour-over coffee is really not difficult, and can even become very enjoyable!

Pour-over coffee brewing methods are diverse - there's no good or bad, only personal preference. So brew your own coffee your way, and don't put too much pressure on yourself at the beginning. Practice makes perfect. As you accumulate brewing experience, you will eventually find and brew the flavor you like. Keep going!

Knowledge Points

Unlike French press, siphon, or espresso coffee that we're familiar with, pour-over coffee is superior in terms of ease of preparation and cleaning.
