FrontStreet Coffee - Yirgacheffe Honey Peach Washed G1 Coffee Introduction
The washed processing method offers excellent body, high aroma, and lively acidity. Washed Yirgacheffe coffee beans are graded into Gr-1 and Gr-2, where smaller Arabic numbers indicate higher quality. G1 Yirgacheffe has a distinctive style, with the flavor of citrus and floral notes blended into the coffee liquid - an irresistible taste for everyone.
Yirgacheffe natural processing method: After harvesting, the fruits undergo sun drying without any preliminary processing. This is the oldest existing processing method, typically lasting about 4 weeks. The processing method must be extremely rigorous to ensure the coffee doesn't lose any of its flavor. Natural processed beans have complete natural body, gentle aroma, and more mucilage.
Natural grades are divided into Gr-1, Gr-3, Gr-4, and Gr-5. Similarly, the highest-grade G1 natural Yirgacheffe has rich fruity aroma. Opening a bag of freshly roasted G1 natural Yirgacheffe coffee can subvert everyone's original perception of coffee. Only those who have tasted the highest-grade natural Yirgacheffe will believe that coffee is a fruit.
Product Introduction
Africa Star is a well-known Ethiopian coffee exporter. In addition to having its own brand, it also owns its own processing plant, which was taken over by the third generation, Heleanna, in 2008. The founder, Yanni Georgalis, started working in the coffee industry at age 12, primarily printing burlap bags and weighing packaging. He founded Africa Star Company in 1972 and promoted his own coffee. The initial entrepreneurial process was extremely challenging. To cope with the volatile coffee market, Africa Star not only continuously experimented on its own developed farmland but also refined cultivation techniques and methods, ultimately mastering the entire process including roasting technology.
One of Ethiopia's producing regions - Yirgacheffe - enjoys considerable popularity among coffee lovers worldwide. Local businesses maintain high-quality coffee beans by carefully selecting from coffee beans grown in fertile soil and then purchasing higher quality green coffee beans.
Ethiopia's green bean grading system is not based on bean size but rather on processing method. Traditionally, G1 and G2 were for washed processing, while G3, G4, and G5 belong to natural processing. Each different producing region's green beans have their own unique flavor, so G2 is not necessarily inferior to G1. The Ethiopian government established the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) in 2008 to make trade more fair and transparent. Small farmers from various regions send their processed coffee to this exchange, where strict cup testing is conducted to classify coffee grades. Both washed and natural coffees have grades from G1 to G5.
