【FrontStreet Coffee Barista's Journal】How the "One-Flow" Little Swan Latte Art is Mastered
Introduction
Today, our talented barista created a beautiful ❤Little Swan❤ latte art, so we're excited to share a complete tutorial on how to create this lovely swan design.
Of course, a beautiful Little Swan latte art must be paired with delicious espresso to create a perfect latte, don't you agree?
For this tutorial, we used FrontStreet Coffee Specialty Blend, which is a 6:4 ratio blend of Brazil and Colombia beans.
Latte Art Process
Creating a Little Swan design takes only about 10 seconds, though our barista demonstrated at a slower pace. Isn't that quick? Couldn't see it clearly?
Don't worry, we've prepared step-by-step GIFs to guide you through the process.
Step One
Thoroughly mix the espresso and milk.
Step Two
Begin creating leaf-like texture patterns. Pay attention to controlling the flow rate. When the milk pitcher swings more frequently, the wing patterns will be finer, resembling a layered heart. When the pitcher swings less frequently, the patterns will be clearer. Additionally, note that while we typically pull straight back when creating leaf patterns, when making the Little Swan's wings, you should tilt slightly toward the edge direction.
Step Three
Lift the milk pitcher higher and control the flow to be relatively fine. Push toward the left side (when pushing, don't go through the center axis of the leaf, but rather push left along the inner fold point of the leaf), stopping at about one-third of the leaf's position. Then lower the pitcher and increase the flow slightly to prepare for the next step of creating the neck.
Step Four
For the neck, pull back toward the right. Pay attention that the neck should transition from thick to thin, so the milk flow should also transition from thick to thin. Since the Little Swan's neck is quite long, start drawing at about one-third from the wing, creating something that resembles a question mark shape.
Step Five
After completing the neck, it's time to create the Little Swan's head. This is relatively simple - just pour a small solid dot to finish.
Important Tips
Here are some key points to keep in mind when creating the Little Swan latte art:
① Ensure thorough mixing of milk and foam, as we've experienced situations where milk and foam separated when pouring the small solid dot, resulting in all foam coming out and creating an unattractive solid dot.
② During step two, don't use too much flow or too fast, otherwise the wings can easily deform.
③ The wings should be slightly higher than the neck for a more attractive appearance.
Conclusion
We hope this tutorial will be helpful to everyone.
Finally, we'd like to share links to other latte art tutorials.
