The Story Behind Twakok
Twakok's original name in Ethiopia is Tafac Kok. Tafac means sweet, while Kok represents peach. When we cupped the sample of this bean, we were deeply captivated by its sweet peach flavor. Therefore, we named it Peach Heart and consulted Ethiopian friends to interpret Peach Heart in Ethiopia's original language. After slight adaptation, it was named Twakok, with the Chinese translation Peach Cocoa, perfectly expressing its sweet and charming honey-peach flavor.
Flavor Description
Sweet and charming peach flavor runs throughout the entire cup. The dry aroma reveals subtle wine notes, peach, strawberry, floral notes, passion fruit, and mango aromas.
When sipping, you can experience bright notes of peach, strawberry, mango, white floral notes, accompanied by bergamot, orange juice, and passion fruit aromas.
Main Notes: Peach, white flowers, strawberry, mango, bergamot
About Sidamo Region
Sidamo grows on the Ethiopian Plateau at elevations between 4,600-7,200 feet in the southernmost part of Ethiopia (Sidamo Province). It is a famous specialty coffee region in southern Ethiopia, bordering Kenya, located southeast of Jimma and directly south of the capital. It typically has distinct sweetness and is preferred by many people, with an annual production of about 225,000 bags/60kg.
Sidamo's coffee flavors are very diverse. Different soil types, microclimates, and countless native coffee varieties create a rich tapestry. Within the region, there are towering mountains, highlands, plateaus, valleys, and plains with diverse topography. The local geology consists of fertile, well-drained volcanic soil with soil depths of nearly two meters, and the topsoil appears dark brown or brown. The region's greatest advantage lies in maintaining soil fertility through organic material recycling, using fallen leaves from surrounding trees or plant residues as fertilizer.
