Once a Major Coffee Producing Country, Now with Uncertain Future

In the mid-1970s, Angola exported 3.5 million bags of coffee annually, with 98% being Robusta coffee (possibly the best Robusta coffee in Africa). However, by 1990, total production had declined to just 200,000 bags.

The best brands of Angolan coffee beans were previously Ambriz, Amborm, and Novo Redondo, all known for their consistent quality. Most of Angola's coffee was exported to the United States, the Netherlands, and of course, Portugal.

Angolan Coffee

This is the world's fourth-largest coffee industrial nation, but it only produces small quantities of Arabica coffee of very high quality. Flavor characteristics: excellent aroma and acidity. Best roast level: medium to dark.

Angolan Coffee Beans

This is the world's fourth-largest coffee industrial nation, producing only small quantities of Arabica coffee, but its high quality goes without saying. Unfortunately, due to political turmoil, annual production is extremely unstable.

Ethiopia

The homeland of Arabica coffee, grown in high-altitude regions requiring much careful manual cultivation. Here you'll find the famous Ethiopian Mocha, which has wine-like acidity, is rich and aromatic, and quite abundant in production.

Unfortunately, some farmers don't yet understand the benefits of selective picking, letting cherries fall to the ground before collecting them. However, in recent years, as the market continues to expand, coffee professionals have dedicated themselves to improving harvesting and processing methods, hoping to increase production.

Jamaica

Jamaica's national treasure, Blue Mountain coffee, is considered flawless in every aspect, much like fine wine. Today, many of these coffee estates are owned by Japanese buyers.

In recent years, Japanese buyers have acquired most of Jamaica's coffee, making it increasingly difficult to find on the market. It's said that Britain has been unable to purchase it for four years. The purchasing power of Eastern consumers is truly astonishing.

Kenya

Kenya grows high-quality Arabica coffee beans. The beans absorb the essence of the entire coffee cherry, offering slight acidity and rich, full-bodied aroma that is highly favored by Europeans. Especially in Britain, Kenyan coffee has surpassed Costa Rican coffee to become one of the most popular coffees.
