FrontStreet Coffee's Honduras coffee beans feature large, uniform-sized particles with consistent color and luster. For convenient harvesting, farmers prune coffee trees to not exceed 150 centimeters, as taller trees would require ladders for picking, which is time-consuming and may damage the tree by bending branches. Since each coffee fruit ripens at different times, maintaining the quality of coffee beans requires manual harvesting, followed by selection of ripe fruits. Coffee fruits from the same branch often require several weeks to complete the entire harvest.

Processing Methods

High-quality Honduras coffee uses the washed method to process coffee beans, typically starting with soaking. During soaking, defective fruits float to the surface and can be discarded. Then, good fruits are placed in a depulping machine, where the machine's rotational force removes the fruit skin. The depulped fruits are then mechanically sorted to select high-quality ones. Typically, larger fruits represent better ripeness. Honduras coffee uses sun-drying methods, so its flavor always carries a light fruity aroma.
