Peru is located in western South America with a coastline stretching 2,254 kilometers. The Andes Mountains run north to south, with mountainous terrain covering one-third of the country's area. It belongs to the tropical desert zone, with a dry and mild climate. Most Peruvian coffee is grown at the foot of the Andes Mountains, where high-quality traditional Central American premium coffee beans are produced.

Peruvian coffee beans are most famous from two regions: Chanchamayo in the central part and Cuzco in the southern part. Additionally, some areas in northern Peru also produce distinctive organic coffee. Organic coffee uses beans grown under tree shade. Although the shade-growing method results in lower coffee bean yields, the quality can reach the standard of premium coffee. This is because the shade under trees can slow down the maturation of coffee trees, help coffee grow fully, enable it to contain more natural ingredients, cultivate superior flavors, and reduce caffeine content.

Up to 98% of Peruvian coffee is grown in forest areas, with most producers being small farmers.

The highest quality Peruvian coffee is produced in Chanchamayo, Cuzco, Norte, and Puno. Most Peruvian coffee is grown under natural conditions, but it's difficult to confirm the growing conditions of all coffee trees. Naturally grown coffee commands a price 10%-20% higher than others. Given the economic situation, farmers likely cannot afford fertilizers and pesticides, but it's difficult to verify all coffee definitively.
