In today's rapidly developing specialty coffee industry, authentic Blue Mountain coffee beans belong to the specialty grade of coffee beans and are also a very high-quality coffee bean with worldwide recognition, deeply loved by global gourmands. Everyone loves Blue Mountain Coffee so much, and FrontStreet Coffee believes it is because of Blue Mountain Coffee's own flavor characteristics that balance sour, sweet, and bitter, offering a rich and mellow taste while maintaining a clean and full-bodied mouthfeel.
Where does Blue Mountain Coffee come from?
Blue Mountain Coffee is produced on the Caribbean island of Jamaica. The island is traversed by many mountain ranges, and the slopes of these mountains are the main coffee-producing areas of Jamaica. Blue Mountain, located northeast of Jamaica's capital, is just one peak among these mountain ranges. The reason this mountain has such a beautiful name is that when British soldiers who previously arrived in Jamaica saw the peak shrouded in blue light, they exclaimed: "Look, the blue mountain!" From then on, it was named "Blue Mountain." In fact, Jamaica Island is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, and on clear days, brilliant sunlight shines on the sea surface. The distant mountains, due to the refraction of the azure sea water, are shrouded in a faint and ethereal blue atmosphere, appearing misty and ethereal with a somewhat mysterious quality.
Most of the Blue Mountain Range has an altitude of over 1800 meters, with the highest peak at 2256 meters, making it the highest peak in the Caribbean region and a famous tourist destination. The unique flavor of Blue Mountain Coffee is related to the exceptionally favorable geographical location and climate conditions of Blue Mountain. Blue Mountain is located in the coffee belt between 25 degrees north and south latitude, with fertile new volcanic soil, fresh air, no pollution, year-round rainfall, and large temperature differences between day and night. Most importantly, every afternoon, clouds and mist envelop the entire mountaintop, not only providing natural shade for the coffee trees but also bringing abundant water vapor, making the taste and aroma of Blue Mountain Coffee outstanding.
Only coffee grown at an altitude of 900-1700 meters in the Blue Mountain Range can be called Blue Mountain Coffee. An American coffee enthusiast is even more "demanding," insisting that "coffee grown at an altitude of 2256 meters is the real Blue Mountain Coffee." Relatively speaking, coffee grown at a moderate altitude produces the best quality. Specific altitude, air humidity, rainfall, light exposure, and other factors have created the renowned King of Coffee.
