Starbucks' Pink Drink Finally Launches in Mainland China

Pink Drink, one of Starbucks' bestselling beverages, has finally been officially launched in mainland China, making its debut under the Chinese name "粉粉生咖" (Pink Refresha). Consequently, today's Xiaohongshu homepage has transformed into a sea of pink.

This time, Starbucks introduced their Refresha series, with prices set at 34, 37, and 40 yuan respectively depending on cup size. Besides the Pink Drink Refresha, the launch also includes three other products: Strawberry Aiyu Lemonade Refresha, Dragon Drink Refresha, and Mango Passion Fruit Lemonade Refresha. Among these, the most famous remains the internet-sensational Pink Drink, with discussions predominantly featuring the "Pink Refresha."

Browsing through Starbucks posts on Xiaohongshu, you'll discover that this pink ocean contains not only netizens' check-ins of the new products but also those who have just changed into their "new skin tone." These are the Starbucks baristas who were forced to wear limited-edition colored aprons to coordinate with the summer beverage launch.

Unlike the names of the new beverages, this limited-edition apron color isn't the traditional girly pink we might expect, but rather a visually striking rose pink. Featuring what could be called "deathly Barbie pink," it has been hailed by netizens as a "dopamine apron," "tender showstopper," and "walking dragon fruit behind the bar."

Allow me to briefly explain: The so-called "dopamine dressing" refers to a dressing style characterized by rich colors, bold combinations, and eye-catching designs.

Regarding such "high-profile" pink aprons, some baristas couldn't wait and photoshopped themselves wearing them before they even arrived;

Others adopted a "fight poison with poison" approach, hoping to defeat pink with pink;

Some couldn't get enough, posing variously in front of the camera, wishing they could dye their hair pink to match it; while others found it utterly distasteful, wearing it with a "lifeless" expression...

As we all know, Starbucks employees typically wear the brand's iconic green aprons (higher-level baristas can have other colors), only donning limited-edition colors for specific holidays, periods, or regions. This shows that Starbucks is indeed placing great importance on the launch and promotion of Pink Drink in mainland China.

Additionally, many netizens also noticed that to coordinate with the Refresha series launch in mainland China, Starbucks replaced the "mermaid" logo on takeaway cold cups with the same silver-white version used in North America. Under netizens' filters, this matches better with the high-value pink of the Pink Drink, giving it a more "Instagram-worthy" style.
