As coffee gradually becomes part of our daily lives, transforming into a routine and essential need, drinking coffee seems to have evolved into a lifestyle choice for self-relaxation. In the past two years, we've seen a significant increase in coffee shops around us - from business districts to communities, from small towns to rural areas, coffee shops are everywhere. People's passion for coffee continues to grow stronger, and coffee consumption shows a year-over-year increasing trend.
Recently, according to CCTV Financial News, with the continuous growth of coffee consumption, the number of coffee shops has also increased. The coffee industry is becoming increasingly prosperous, continuously driving the development of professional coffee training institutions. From basic latte art experience classes to advanced skill courses in specialty coffee and Chinese-style creative coffee, these institutions meet the coffee training needs of different groups.
Some coffee training institutions indicate that since the beginning of this year, user searches for "specialty coffee" have increased by 207% year-on-year. Among the students enrolling in these courses, not only are there entrepreneurs planning to open coffee shops, but also an increasing number of people who are interested in coffee culture and are learning it as a hobby.
It is understood that currently, the cost of a coffee training session on the market ranges from 300 to 1000 yuan. With the diversified development of the coffee market, some businesses will also customize exclusive courses based on students' different needs, targeting those who don't want to open shops or obtain certifications but simply enjoy coffee latte art.
The head of a training institution stated: "Today's coffee training not only includes coffee brewing courses and professional barista programs, but even sensory evaluation and coffee roasting courses. The total number of trained personnel reaches approximately five to six hundred people. For popular courses, appointments need to be made half a month in advance, and basically all instruction is conducted one-on-one or one-on-two with students."
Data shows that since October this year, searches for "coffee training" have increased by 77% compared to the same period last year, and online orders for coffee training experiences have grown by more than 50% year-on-year. Among these, users aged 20-35 constitute the main group searching for coffee training services, accounting for over 70% of the total.
According to the "2022-2023 China Coffee Industry Development and Consumer Demand Big Data Monitoring Report" released by iiMedia Research, current survey data from coffee consumption groups shows that over 80.5% of users drink at least one cup of coffee per week, higher than the 66% for tea consumption. Among them, 21.5% of people drink a cup of coffee every day, with an annual consumption of over 261 cups.
Today's coffee has evolved from previously being a trendy in-store experience to now being ordered through delivery for a daily "energy boost." Freshly ground coffee has become a daily delivery beverage for contemporary young people, with its growth rate even surpassing that of milk tea.
As coffee demand gradually climbs and the number of coffee shops increases, the need for coffee professionals naturally grows. The increase in people wanting to learn coffee continuously drives the development of the coffee training market. China's coffee industry is rising from all aspects.
