Yes! As we all know, Starbucks is a coffee brand that "doesn't stick to its core business"...

Last year, they launched buffet service in mainland China, and this year in Taiwan, they've introduced a Michelin-level coffee feast experience!

Starbucks buffet experience

Last August, Starbucks Shanghai Roastery launched a limited-time buffet offering. For just RMB 358/RMB 398, you could enjoy unlimited drinks and food for 2 hours! The selection included various premium freshly sliced hams, assorted sausages, salmon & chicken pizzas, mini cakes, and DIY coffee ice cream. The higher-priced package also featured specialty cocktails & craft beer.

This year, Starbucks Taiwan, under the theme "Creating More Gold Star Value Experiences," not only launched exclusive calligraphy workshops and floral design art exchange activities for Gold Star members, along with dedicated merchandise redemption options, but also collaborated with local Michelin Plate-recommended restaurant Embers to create a one-night only limited "Coffee Feast"! The event took place on May 27th, limited to 28 participants, with registration requirements: 200 stars + NT$1,800 (approximately RMB 396).

This coffee feast was themed around "24 Years of Starbucks Journey" (Taiwan's first Starbucks opened in March 1998), featuring five limited-edition dishes created with local Taiwanese ingredients, paired with creative coffee beverages developed by Starbucks. Through exploring local ingredients and coffee creations, participants experienced Starbucks' local stories in Taiwan over the past 24 years.

The Five-Course Coffee Feast Experience

According to the restaurant's introduction, the "Coffee Feast" began with a champagne made from coffee cherry skins & coffee leaves (Cascara)~

The first course featured a coffee specialty based on matcha latte, paired with trout tartare sprinkled with cilantro, maca, and other distinctly Taiwanese spices, symbolizing the milestone Starbucks carved in Taiwan's coffee landscape 24 years ago.

The second course featured local Taiwanese taro paired with tender cured meat, symbolizing Starbucks' bountiful harvest during its third five-year period in Taiwan.

The third course selected tender tri-tip from local Taiwanese black cattle, paired with coffee powder jelly, accompanied by a non-alcoholic espresso martini, symbolizing the maturation of Starbucks' operations.

The fourth course featured local Taiwanese Zhudi chicken paired with lotus leaf tea and pickled lotus root, accompanied by rare Starbucks Reserve Coffee sourced by Starbucks coffee experts from coffee farms worldwide, symbolizing Starbucks' multi-year bean exploration journey in Taiwan.

The fifth dessert course featured ricotta cheese paired with citrus honey and cured meat (yes, dessert with cured meat, you read that right), accompanied by a non-alcoholic Irish coffee made with Guatemala coffee, sherry coffee, brown sugar, and cream. After tasting, a unique coffee aroma lingers in the mouth, symbolizing that Starbucks will continue to bring surprises to people.

Previous Michelin Collaborations

Before collaborating with the Michelin Plate-recommended restaurant, in 2021, Starbucks Taiwan had already partnered with Chef Danny Yu of the one-Michelin-starred "Danny's Steak House" to launch the "Star Dining Celebrity Chef Series" at their Reserve stores, including "Chef's Version Red Wine Braised Beef," "American Beef Brisket Thin Sliced Panini," and "New Orleans Beef Panini," allowing everyone to enjoy delicacies from a Michelin-starred restaurant chef at Starbucks, even during busy times.
