Pour-Over Coffee: The Art and Science

Pour-over coffee is a simple brewing method, yet mastering it is no simple task. Using a dripper with filter paper or a mesh screen as filtration tools makes it extremely convenient. Generally speaking, pour-over coffee makers utilize the drip brewing concept to prepare coffee. There are various types of pour-over drippers available on the market, such as T-type, cone-shaped, V60, smart drippers, and more. Brewing Light Roasts

If you want more acidity from light roasts: use higher water temperature, controlled between 90-88°C. Then pour more slowly to extract more aroma and emphasize the acidity of the coffee beans. If you don't want too much acidity, lower the water temperature to 86-84°C and pour slightly faster, which will reveal noticeable sweetness and fruit notes.

Let it cool before drinking for a better experience. This prevents harsh acidity and allows the floral and fruit aromas to become more prominent. The sweet and sour profile of light roasts is perfect for hot summer mornings, with clear, bell-like acidity that sweeps away the groggy, humid morning haze.
