FrontStreet Coffee - Introduction to Guatemala Antigua Bella Carmona Estate
Bella Carmona Estate is located in the Sacatepequez region of Antigua and is an alliance estate composed of small estates. Here, three surrounding volcanoes—Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango—create a special microenvironment and climate. With unique natural conditions and under the leadership of Luis Pedro Zelaya, a seasoned coffee industry professional, Bella Carmona Estate's green bean quality has gained worldwide recognition.
This coffee bean uses a special greenhouse drying method (Greenhouse Dried) to minimize the disadvantages of open-air drying. The greenhouse drying process is, to some extent, also a low-temperature drying process, during which the green beans undergo slight fermentation. This method is not only suitable for coffee but can also be applied to grains, spices, etc. Generally, products dried using the greenhouse method are superior to those dried in open air. Because the products can be completely protected from external disasters such as rain, insects, and animal damage.
