FrontStreet Coffee - Sidamo Kebado Washed G1 Introduction

This coffee bean is called Kebado, processed using the washed method, originating from the renowned Sidamo region in Ethiopia. Most coffee cultivation in Ethiopia follows small-scale farming practices. For instance, the coffee cherries for this batch were collectively cultivated and harvested by 600 individual small farmers and transported to processing stations for unified treatment. Water resources are scarce in Ethiopia, but this farm fortunately has access to spring irrigation, enabling the implementation of washed processing. Combined with red-brown clay soil, high altitude, and suitable growing conditions for Heirloom varieties, this coffee bean offers exceptional flavor characteristics and is highly popular.

The Ethiopia Sidamo region sits at an altitude of 1830 meters. Sidamo is one of Ethiopia's oldest and most renowned premium specialty coffee-producing regions, sharing its prestigious reputation with the well-known Yirgacheffe region. The most distinctive feature of Sidamo Kebado washed coffee is its clean orange peel aroma and rich lavender notes. The cup delivers bright aromatics with a long-lasting sweet aftertaste! When prepared using pour-over brewing methods, it reveals uplifting citrus flavors and elegant lavender aromatics, offering an aromatic, sweet cup with balanced acidity and fruit juice-like characteristics.

Ethiopia is widely recognized as the birthplace of coffee, though this statement requires some qualification. Arabica varieties were likely first discovered in southern Sudan, but it wasn't until they spread to Ethiopia that they truly flourished. The people here began consuming coffee fruits, initially as fruits rather than beverages. Yemen was the first country to cultivate coffee trees as a crop, but Ethiopia had been harvesting wild coffee fruits even earlier.

This is precisely a washed Kebado coffee from the vast Sidamo region, G1 grade, with multi-layered flavors, high sweetness, and used across multiple brands' product lines. Its medium body and high sweetness characteristics make it suitable for SOE (Single Origin Espresso) offerings, as well as for light to medium roasting for pour-over preparation.
