FrontStreet Coffee - Nicaragua Parainema Natural Introduction
Origin: Nicaragua
Region: Jinotega Province, Holiday Estate
Variety: Parainema
Altitude: 1500 meters
Process: Natural
Jinotega Province is located in northern Nicaragua, near the Honduran border. Its geographical location belongs to a valley area with a relatively cool climate. The variety cultivated at Holiday Estate is Parainema, a man-made hybrid that can better resist leaf rust and nematode infestations. It was officially named after being introduced to Honduras, allows for denser planting, and resembles Geisha in appearance.
This batch of Holiday Estate Natural processed coffee ranked 15th in the Nicaragua Cup of Excellence. Personally, I feel the balance between acidity and sweetness is excellent, with acidity similar to purple grapes and a refreshing sweet taste reminiscent of cherries or red apples. The finish reveals some spicy notes, with a caramel-like aftertaste.
It's particularly suitable for those who can accept fruit acidity but prefer not to have an overly intense sour profile.
