FrontStreet Coffee - Panama Mariposa Boquete Washed Introduction
Panama Mariposa Boquete
Origin: Panama
Region: Boquete
Grade: SHB
Varieties: Geisha, Catuai, Caturra
Altitude: 1400-1700 meters
Processing: Washed
Aroma: Potato notes, vegetable and fruit notes, maple flavor, hazelnut, coffee flower aroma, lemon citrus fragrance
Boquete is a high-altitude volcanic region where the Baru volcano provides exceptionally fertile soil. The elevated terrain, cool and humid air, varying sunlight, abundant rainfall, and flowing rivers create ideal conditions for producing premium Panamanian specialty coffee. This batch comes from coffee grown in the same region as Hacienda La Esmeralda, situated in an area with continuous valleys and ridges that form several distinct microclimates. Coffee produced from different blocks each possesses unique characteristics - a refreshing and comfortable citrus sensation, bright tropical fruit notes, and delicate floral notes interweave to create an exceptionally elegant and sophisticated flavor profile.
During the harvest season, workers selectively pick only individual ripe berries by hand, allowing unripe green berries to continue maturing. Therefore, each fruit branch may need to be selectively picked up to five times in a single season. This is a difficult and labor-intensive process. It ensures that red berries retain higher aromatic oils while having lower organic acid content, making the coffee flavor more fragrant, smoother, and richer.
