FrontStreet Coffee - Ethiopia Sidamo Shakisso Dembi Uddo Introduction

Sidamo is located on the fertile highlands of the East African Rift Valley and is one of Ethiopia's three registered coffee trademark regions (the other two being Harar and Yirgacheffe). It has an altitude of 1550-2200 meters, with abundant rainfall, suitable temperatures, and fertile soil.

It is reported that approximately 60% of the coffee beans produced here are processed using the washed method. Sidamo coffee is famous for its rich flavor, full body, bright acidity, as well as floral and citrus notes.

Sidamo is a very important coffee-producing region in Ethiopia, with administrative status as a province. The town of Yirgacheffe is located within Sidamo province. Due to its somewhat unique flavor profile, Yirgacheffe became independent from Sidamo, which also demonstrates how exceptional the Sidamo region truly is.

Guji is a district within Sidamo province, and Shakisso town belongs to the Guji region. The Girgisa Processing Station is located in Dembi Uddo village, Shakisso town. This processing station has been established for nearly 4 years, and its owner is also engaged in coffee trade, which allows the station to be more receptive to advanced processing techniques.

This newly added Shakisso natural process coffee has a relatively softer overall flavor profile compared to Yirgacheffe natural process. It features dark fruit aromas, a clean and sweet entry, tropical fruit mixed with sweet and sour notes, fermentation characteristics, and a subtle nutty finish.
