FrontStreet Coffee - Guatemala Caciselo Introduction

Guatemala Antigua Valley is located in the lush highlands of Central America. This place was destroyed by volcanoes but also became famous because of them. This is where Starbucks Guatemala Caciselo coffee beans grow.

The charm of Guatemala Caciselo coffee beans lies in presenting this coffee's floral aroma, lively acidity, and smooth cocoa aftertaste through professional roasting. In Spanish, Caciselo means "like paradise."

Guatemala is one of the ancient centers of Mayan culture. In the Mayan-Toltec language, Guatemala means "land of dense forests." Two-thirds of the country's territory is plateau. High altitude, mild climate, abundant sunshine, cool night temperatures, and periodic rainy seasons provide excellent natural conditions for Guatemala's coffee cultivation. At the same time, Guatemala has numerous active volcanoes, and fertile soil also enables this region to produce world-class coffee.

In 1523, the Spanish came to Guatemala. They destroyed the local Mayan culture and began colonial rule in Guatemala. During this period, destructive policies caused most Mayan books to be destroyed, with only a small portion preserved. Meanwhile, in 1524, Guatemala completely became a Spanish colony.

Antigua City was the capital during the Spanish colonial period in 1543. Although located in a valley surrounded by layers of active volcanoes, the mysterious, vast, and extremely fertile land still tempted the Spanish to establish their capital in this fault valley. Later, this place was instantly swallowed by a volcano. After the disaster, this place became the domain of indigenous people. The resilient and hardworking indigenous people grew world-renowned coffee in this place.
