FrontStreet Coffee - Panama Butterfly Coffee Introduction
Panama is a small country located in the center of the American continent. Its beaches are washed by the waters of both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Panama is situated at 9 degrees north latitude, at the convergence point of the central mountain range, where one of Central America's highest volcanoes, Baru Volcano, is located.
Baru Volcano has an altitude of over 11,400 feet, and the surrounding land is rich in nutrient-dense soil, providing excellent conditions for the sowing and cultivation of Panama's unique coffees.
These highlands possess the suitable microclimate, soil, temperature, and altitude for the sowing, planting, and harvesting of various unique coffee varieties. These coffees feature notes of jasmine, citrus, ripe fruits, berries, caramel, special sweetness, vanilla, and chocolate.
Panama Butterfly comes from the same producing area as the Hacienda La Esmeralda estate. The skyrocketing price of Geisha has led to the need to reduce the Geisha content in Butterfly coffee beans to 40% for trade advantage. Yes, Butterfly contains 40% Geisha, with the remaining components being Caturra and Catuai, meaning Butterfly is not a single coffee variety but a blend of three beans! All three beans grow in the Baru Volcano region of Boquete, Panama, at altitudes above 1,600 meters. The unique microclimate environment and the fertile soil brought by volcanic ash here contribute to their distinctive coffee quality.
This is a coffee bean containing the Geisha variety. Geisha is one of the original coffee tree species, some call it "Geisha," others translate it as "Geisha," her name embodies gentleness and floral fragrance. It's a coffee that's unforgettable once tasted, and it's often the winner in bidding competitions and cupping contests worldwide, receiving extremely high ratings! Good Geisha coffee will have intense floral and citrus aromas, bright and gentle acidity, smooth and light mouthfeel, with an extremely delicate finish!
