Guatemala is located in the Central American isthmus, with many mountains and plateaus formed by volcanoes. It produces high-quality Central American high-altitude extremely hard coffee beans and is the 9th largest coffee bean producing country in the world. Guatemala's main coffee producing regions include seven major regions: Antigua, Huehuetenango, Atitlan, Coban, Fraijanes, and Acatenango. All coffee beans produced in Guatemala, which has seven major coffee-producing regions, are Arabica, located in highland terrain under subtropical climate conditions. The rich and stable rainfall and fertile volcanic ash soil create extremely suitable natural environmental conditions for coffee cultivation throughout Guatemala.

Antigua

Rich volcanic soil, low humidity, abundant sunlight, and cool nights are the climatic characteristics of the Antigua coffee producing region. This valley is surrounded by three volcanoes: Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. Among them, the Fuego volcano is one of the three most active volcanoes in Guatemala, and its frequent eruptions bring volcanic ash that enriches the soil in the Antigua region with minerals. The volcanic pumice in the soil can maintain humidity, helping to overcome the disadvantage of low rainfall in the Antigua region. Additionally, the tree shade in this region is particularly dense, which can resist occasional frosts and protect coffee plants from frost damage.

Antigua Coffee Cup Profile

Rich wet aroma, good balance, high sweetness, and elegant, floating taste.
