FrontStreet Coffee - Kenya PB TOP Thagini Estate Peaberry

Today's highlight is the Kenya PB TOP Peaberry! When coffee enthusiasts see the words "peaberry," they can barely contain their excitement. This coffee uses refined water processing combined with drying on raised beds, features Kenya's prized SL28 variety, and is also a peaberry! Writing about this, we couldn't resist immediately brewing a cup to enjoy.

However, many friends may not understand what peaberries are. You could say peaberries are "nature's darlings." Typically, each coffee fruit contains two coffee seeds (coffee beans), growing opposite each other. Normally, each coffee bean has a flat side, sharing nutrients equally, so the two beans have similar shapes and sizes and are called flat beans. But exceptions exist—when a coffee fruit is affected by certain factors (nutrient deficiency, pests, drought, etc.), causing it to fail to develop into two uniform flat beans, one seed may absorb most of the nutrients, resulting in a round, plump bean. This is how peaberries grow, and "PB" represents the highest screen size grade among peaberries.

Many friends have discussed with us the gender characteristics of peaberries. While we don't agree with these views, we won't elaborate on them here. Some believe that peaberries absorb most of the essence of a coffee fruit, resulting in exceptionally superior flavors, while others think peaberries are merely a gimmick and not as remarkable as claimed. But once you truly experience them, you'll realize that intoxicating berry acidity can truly make one's heart soar.
