FrontStreet Coffee - Yirgacheffe Coffee Introduction
Yirgacheffe coffee is produced in Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee. Yirgacheffe is the name of a small local town with an altitude of approximately 1,700-2,100 meters. Yirgacheffe coffee is divided into two main categories based on different processing methods of green coffee beans:
Category A: Washed processing method, with grade standards established by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), classified as Gr-1 and Gr-2. The smaller the Arabic numeral, the higher the grade. G1 Yirgacheffe has a distinctive style, with citrus and flower flavors integrated into the coffee liquid—a taste that everyone finds irresistible.
Category B: Natural processing method for green coffee beans, with grades classified as Gr-1, Gr-3, Gr-4, and Gr-5. The highest grade G1 natural Yirgacheffe has rich fruity aroma. Opening a bag of freshly roasted G1 natural Yirgacheffe coffee can completely overturn people's original understanding of coffee.
Yirgacheffe's fame comes from its washed processing method that brings out signature citrus, lemon, and floral notes, along with black tea flavors. Today, it's even more praised for its tropical fruit notes in the natural processed variety. Due to its easily recognizable flavor profile, Yirgacheffe is sought after by many coffee enthusiasts and has also allowed those new to coffee to experience flavors completely different from instant and espresso coffee. Coffee beans are a type of plant fruit and also an agricultural product. The existence of Yirgacheffe perfectly demonstrates the fruit attribute of coffee.
