This washed Kebado comes from Ethiopia, produced in the renowned Sidamo region. Most coffee cultivation in Ethiopia follows small-scale farming practices. For instance, the fresh cherries of this particular coffee were collectively grown and harvested by 600 individual small-scale farmers, then transported to processing stations for uniform treatment. Despite water scarcity in Ethiopia, this farm benefits from spring irrigation, making washed processing feasible. Combined with reddish-brown clay soil, high altitude, and ideal growing conditions for Heirloom varieties, this coffee has become exceptionally popular.

The Ethiopian Sidamo region, situated at an altitude of 1,830 meters, is one of Ethiopia's oldest and finest specialty coffee-producing areas. Alongside it, the equally famous Yirgacheffe region enjoys significant renown. The most distinctive characteristic of Sidamo Kebado washed coffee is its clean orange peel aroma and rich lavender fragrance. The cup presents a bright, aromatic profile with a persistent sweet aftertaste! When prepared using pour-over methods, it reveals uplifting citrus notes and elegant lavender aromatics, delivering an aromatic, sweet cup with juicy acidity.

Ethiopia is widely recognized as the birthplace of coffee, though this statement requires some clarification. The Arabica lineage was likely first discovered in southern Sudan, but it wasn't until it spread to Ethiopia that it truly flourished. The local people began consuming coffee fruits, initially as fruit rather than as a beverage. Yemen was the first country to cultivate coffee trees as a crop, but Ethiopia had been harvesting wild coffee fruits long before that.

It is precisely this Kebado washed coffee from the vast Sidamo region—G1 grade, multi-layered in flavor, high in sweetness, and featured in multiple brand product lines—that stands out.
