FrontStreet Coffee - Guatemala Capetillo Estate Pacamara Natural Process Introduction
Capetillo Estate has been operated by the Echeverria family for several generations and is now managed by Mr. Pedro Echeverria. This estate boasts a uniquely advantageous geographical location, situated in the inner valley of Antigua, Guatemala, between the Acatenango and Agua volcanic zones. Capetillo is an ancient estate that originally cultivated short-term crops such as sugarcane, but began growing coffee several decades ago. The machines once used for grinding sugarcane have now been converted to process coffee fruits for pulp removal, and to this day, they continue to use hydraulic power as their main source of electricity.
This coffee estate is vertically integrated, handling everything from cultivating coffee seeds to packaging and arranging coffee exports. Recently, they have also upgraded their equipment, installing the latest generation of sorting machines and electronic harvesting equipment to ensure a continuous supply of stable, high-quality coffee.
Capetillo Estate is one of the oldest coffee-growing estates in Guatemala, with a history of 140 years. The coffee plantation is located right beside the volcano, thus enjoying fertile volcanic soil. The estate is a certified member of the Authentic Antigua Coffee Growers Association and is renowned for providing high-quality specialty coffee.
