Introduction to FrontStreet Coffee's Black Coffee

Black coffee is coffee without any additions. Drinking black coffee allows you to experience a collision with the origin of coffee. Black coffee combines the five flavors of coffee: aroma, sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. It is primitive yet rugged, profound yet intriguing, with a faint mellow fragrance floating in the bitterness that touches your tongue.

Pour-over coffee is black coffee brewed by a barista using pour-over equipment. After coffee beans are ground by a grinder, hot water is poured for blooming and brewing, then the coffee liquid is formed by dripping through filter paper. The taste is mainly determined by different coffee beans, and different brewing equipment and techniques will also affect the coffee's flavor to some extent.

"Pour-over coffee" is different from the black coffee we usually drink. Although what's brewed is black coffee, its "bitterness" is not prominent. What you taste more is the bright "acidity" and the faint coffee "floral" aroma!

Taste

When I used to drink espresso, the espresso coffee was also black, with a rich layer of oil on the surface. It was bitter and aromatic, with a mellow and smooth mouthfeel, and the intense coffee flavor lingered for a long time.

After drinking pour-over coffee, the difference was significant, giving me a new understanding of coffee. What I tasted was high-quality fruity acidity and faint coffee floral aroma, while bitterness and astringency were minimal. The slight acidity left an elegant floral fragrance lingering in the mouth. Even after drinking a glass of warm water, the fragrance didn't dissipate, leaving a long-lasting aftertaste.

Typically, single-origin coffee beans are used as the raw material. The roasting degree of coffee beans ranges from light, medium to dark. Pour-over coffee mostly uses a dripper for brewing. After grinding the coffee beans into powder and placing them in filter paper, hot water is slowly poured and evenly distributed over the entire coffee grounds. The coffee liquid extracted through the filter paper and dripper slowly drips down, completing a cup of pour-over coffee.

Key points: To brew a delicious cup of pour-over coffee, the key lies in grinding, water temperature, and the ratio of coffee to water, etc. Compared to machine-made coffee, there are more considerations.
