FrontStreet Coffee - Cold Brew Coffee Making Guide

Coffee contains thousands of aromatic compounds, and different aromatic compounds have varying extraction efficiencies during the brewing process. This Inuit blend is specially designed by us to cater to the characteristics of cold water, low-temperature extraction.

Since cold brew coffee uses cold water for long-term, low-temperature extraction, the bitter and miscellaneous flavors that are easily extracted at high temperatures are not extracted. The coffee has low acidity, high sweetness, and almost no bitterness. Therefore, our cold brew coffee tastes sweet and refreshing, making it an excellent summer beverage to beat the heat.

Cold Brew Coffee Making Method

Let me share the method for making cold brew coffee:

  1. Package coffee grounds in tea bags.
  2. Prepare a glass bottle or a sealable container.
  3. Water to grounds ratio (this is a variable factor - feel free to adjust according to your preference. Don't get bogged down by specific ratios. A reference ratio of water to grounds between 1:4 to 1:10 works well).
  4. Water: It's recommended to use purified or mineral water.
  5. Place the packaged coffee bags in the bottle, add water, seal well, and refrigerate for about 12 hours. For a stronger flavor, you can extend the time by a few hours, but do not exceed 48 hours (this is the maximum time for flavor extraction).
  6. After removing the coffee bags, you can enjoy it immediately. You may add milk or sugar according to your preference.

In addition to daily consumption, you can also serve it as a beverage for family gatherings. Making a large pitcher is effortless. The prepared cold brew coffee can also be used to make coffee ice cubes, so your iced coffee won't become diluted as you drink it. Drinking coffee should be a relaxing experience - don't get too caught up in theories and methods. As long as it's safe and hygienic, you can make and drink it however you like. Don't be burdened by conventions; everything we do is to obtain pleasure.

Knowledge Point

For cold brew coffee bean selection, it's recommended to choose single-origin coffee beans, based on your preferred flavor profile.
