FrontStreet Coffee - Introducing Hawaii Arianna Estate Kona

The estate's owner, Sharon Dolezal Wood, named the farm "Arianna ESTATE" after her daughter, Arianna. To honor their Hawaiian ancestors, the family wanted the name to carry Hawaiian meaning as well - and "Ono," which means "delicious" in Hawaiian, spoke of perfection.

Hawaii Kona Arianna ESTATE covers 40 acres on the lush slopes of Hualalai Volcano within the Kona coffee belt. The estate grows three varieties of 100% Kona coffee. Warm tropical showers and gentle sea breezes give the Hawaiian Islands the ideal environment for one of the world's most distinctive coffees - Kona.

During the red cherry harvest, the estate hand-picks 100% of the crop to ensure that only fully ripe cherries are taken. Careful washing and drying follow, presenting a perfect result to every customer who tastes the coffee.

Since 1970, the state of Hawaii has held the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival every November, inviting estates to take part in this annual event, where Q Graders from around the world serve as important judges. Arianna Estate earned first place in the Hawaii statewide Kona competition in both 2007 and 2011.

Arianna ESTATE proudly states: "We strive to do every step well, which truly reflects our philosophy - to ensure that Kona coffee from the farm to your cup is the best for you."

Sharon Dolezal Wood has long practiced sustainable management, caring for the land and trees as best she can. She has worked with the University of Hawaii's Cooperative Extension Service to hold seminars devoted to green practices. Over the past few years she has carried out restoration plans for native Hawaiian plants and trees and established bird corridors at high altitudes for bird habitats, creating wonderful woods where local birds can live, in the hope that Arianna Farm may one day become an important link in the food chain.
