La Esmeralda is located in the mountainous region of Boquete, Panama. This area enjoys a mild climate, fertile young volcanic soil, appropriate rainfall, and diverse microclimates, earning the Boquete mountains the reputation of being a paradise for coffee. Consequently, coffee beans produced in this region were often named after Baru Mountain before they gained fame.
La Esmeralda of Panama is a company specializing in specialty coffee production, owned by the Peterson family. It is a renowned producer of award-winning Geisha coffee, setting a record for the highest auction price ever in 2004. Since then, it has continued to receive numerous coffee industry awards and has set several online coffee auction price records.
The fertile western volcanic soil, combined with the mist from both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, makes La Esmeralda a gem among Panamanian coffees. Continuous production at the highest standards, investing time in attention to detail and flavor profile, sets them apart from other coffees around the world. Jasmine, lemongrass, orange, and tropical fruits grown in the high mountains of Boquete add beautiful floral and fruit elements to La Esmeralda's signature Geisha series. Each micro-lot product possesses unique characteristics, outstanding quality, and exceptional flavor.
