FrontStreet Coffee - Indonesian Mandheling Introduction
Mandheling coffee is produced in Sumatra, Asian Indonesia, also known as "Sumatra coffee." It has a very rich flavor, sweet fragrance, pure bitterness, and mellowness, with a slight sweetness and micro-acidity. After drinking, it leaves a long-lasting aftertaste and finish.
Mandheling coffee is considered the world's most mellow coffee. When tasting Mandheling, you can feel a distinct smoothness on your tongue. It also has lower acidity, but this acidity can be clearly tasted. The jumping micro-acidity mixed with the richest aroma allows you to easily experience the lively factors within the gentle richness. In addition, this coffee also has a faint earthy aroma, which some describe as the fragrance of herbal plants.
The most famous coffee-producing region in Asia is the various islands of the Malay Archipelago: Sumatra Island, Java Island, and Kalimantan Island. Among them, the Sumatra Mandheling coffee produced on Sumatra Island in Indonesia enjoys the highest reputation.
Coffee bean sizes: 20 mesh ~ 19 mesh (extra large), 18 mesh (large), 17 mesh (standard large), 16 mesh (regular), 15 mesh (medium), 14 mesh (small), 13 mesh ~ 12 mesh (extra small).
Toraja UNO Estate is located in the high-altitude mountain area of Ganglannlevata Mountain, west of Toraja town on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. The estate altitude is 2800 meters, making it one of the highest altitude estates currently. The estate's coffee trees are mainly planted on cedar forest slopes with steep terrain. Fallen leaves and branches from mountain trees provide nutrients without additional fertilization, and the soil is rich in organic matter. The coffee itself carries a faint floral, fruity, and cedar sweetness. The estate is shrouded in clouds and mist throughout the day, irrigated by mountain spring water. Environmental factors combined with meticulous hand-selection of mature red fruits result in semi-washed processing of green beans at the estate, preserving rich fruit aroma. After sun-drying and hulling, four rounds of hand-selection achieve G1 grade.

Unlike coffee beans named after producing regions such as Kenya or Yirgacheffe, Mandheling is neither a region name, nor a place name, port name, or coffee variety name, but rather evolved from a story of misunderstanding.
