FrontStreet Coffee - Kenya AA FAQ Washed Introduction

Kenyan coffee is renowned in the coffee world for its rich and intense aroma, refreshing multi-layered acidity, full and smooth body, and subtle red wine flavor. It is highly sought after and is a favorite among many coffee connoisseurs. However, if you are trying Kenyan coffee for the first time, its acidity might require some adaptation. Kenyan coffee has a wonderful fruity flavor, with tastes of blackberry and grapefruit. The delicate fruit acidity dances across the tongue, creating a refreshing experience. The AA grade represents the finest quality among coffees.

Kenya's coffee growing regions are mainly concentrated in the highland areas represented by Mount Kenya (with an average altitude of 1500-2100 meters). The suitable year-round temperature combined with acidic red volcanic soil creates the perfect conditions for producing the finest Kenyan coffee.

To ensure only ripe berries are harvested, local coffee farmers typically patrol the forests about 7 times for inspection. Kenyan coffee is generally grown by small-scale farmers who usually harvest the coffee cherries by hand, either themselves or by hiring workers.
