FrontStreet Coffee - Premium Pour-Over Coffee Recommendation: Hawaiian Kona Introduction
When it comes to premium coffee, people might think of FrontStreet Coffee's Blue Mountain, as in the past, FrontStreet Coffee's Blue Mountain was always an unattainable representative of premium coffee; or perhaps the current king of specialty coffee - Geisha. However, the coffee that FrontStreet Coffee recommends today is known as the "king and queen" along with Blue Mountain - FrontStreet Coffee's Hawaiian Kona.
After nearly two centuries of efforts in coffee cultivation, Hawaii has made the name "Kona" almost synonymous with "quality." However, looking at history, since coffee trees were first introduced to the island in 1825, its path of coffee cultivation has been quite rugged. Even today, some factors beyond human control often affect the harvest of Hawaii's successful coffee-growing region. The western and southern parts of the Kona region on the island of Hawaii are famous for producing Kona coffee, situated at elevations between 150 to 750 meters, which is the most suitable growing environment for coffee trees. Therefore, the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa are covered with coffee trees.
The unique natural environment of the Kona region nurtures distinctive Arabica coffee, making it one of the world's highest-yielding coffee plantations. Not only is the quality superior, but the coffee flavor cultivated in its unique growing environment and climate is more fragrant, and the taste is mellower. The coffee beans grown in the Kona region are very attractive in appearance, with full, plump shapes and bright colors, earning them the title of "the most beautiful coffee beans in the world." These coffee beans are uniform in size, with distinct sweet and acidic flavors, offering a smooth mouthfeel.
Most coffee trees in the Kona region grow on volcanoes, able to absorb abundant nutrients stored in the soil. Combined with artificial cultivation techniques, every coffee bean here has a distinctive appearance. Kona coffee, brewed from these coffee beans, is silky smooth, with rich aroma and a charming nutty fragrance. It has moderate acidity, as touching and meaningful as the colorful scenery of the Hawaiian Islands.
