FrontStreet Coffee - Pour-over Coffee Recommendation: Yirgacheffe Washed Mona Lisa Introduction

Today, I tasted a very different washed Yirgacheffe - Mona Lisa. The reason FrontStreet Coffee recommends this bean is undoubtedly because we were attracted by its name. As everyone knows, "Mona Lisa" is a famous painting whose smile captivates the world. This coffee bean is indeed equally intoxicating. Want to know what makes this bean so special?

You could say FrontStreet Coffee was initially attracted by the elegant lady on the bean bag, but upon further inquiry, we discovered that "Mona Lisa" isn't actually named "Mona Lisa" - it's just a farm name with a similar pronunciation. A friend joked that the lady pattern on the bean bag is rather humorous - since it's from Ethiopia, she should naturally have dark skin!

But the outstanding performance of "Mona Lisa" is truly stunning. Like its smile, it's sweet and warm. Who is "Mona Lisa" and where does it come from? The Gedeb growing area is located in a high-altitude producing region. Gedeb is situated in the southeastern corner of Yirgacheffe, about 50 kilometers south from Yirgacheffe town. The elevation rises from 1,850m in Yirgacheffe town to 2,030m at the processing plant, making it one of the highest areas in all of Yirgacheffe. The average elevation is extremely high, approximately between 1,900-2,200 meters. Because the largest urban center in this area is named Gedeb, coffee professionals often refer to this region as Gedeb.
