The Kochere district (Kochere woreda) in the southern Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia is one of the highest places on earth for growing coffee.

Due to high altitude, wild native coffee varieties, and iron-rich soil, the Kochere district is an excellent quality coffee producing area within Yirgacheffe.

With vibrant citrus acidity, floral aromas, sweet silky mouthfeel, plus Yirgacheffe's famous spice notes and complex fruit flavors, Kochere has become a rare and exceptional coffee from the Yirgacheffe region.

The harvested cherries are first manually sorted by small farmers in nearby communities (kebeles). The coffee trees are mostly "old vines," delivering classic Ethiopian native variety flavors.

The processing station is located at the Teklu Dembel washing station, where the washed processing method is used. The traditional washed method first removes the pulp and skin from the fruit, then places the fruit in water channels to easily remove defective beans, followed by fermentation, and finally drying on sun-drying beds to obtain parchment coffee.

Dry Fragrance: Clean and delicate aroma, floral notes, vanilla, peach, honey, and cane sugar.

Wet Aroma: Herbal vanilla, peach, nectarine, floral notes, and citrus.

Flavor: Rich mature fruits, ripe grapes, lemon acidity and honey sweetness - both sweet and delicate! With pleasant floral aromas, bright citrus flavors, and a subtle dark chocolate aftertaste.
