Drinking Americano for Weight Loss: The Right Way and Effects of Daily Iced Americano for Women
Among the many coffee beverages, the Americano, often listed first on the menu, is undoubtedly one of the most popular items. Among them, the refreshing iced Americano has become a signature product at most coffee shops.
Understanding Americano Coffee
Americano is composed of espresso plus water, belonging to the category of Italian-style black coffee. So why is something clearly Italian-style called "Americano"? Of course, it's related to Americans~
Although the detailed origin of the Americano is difficult to trace, there is a popular story: During World War II, American soldiers drank refreshing coffee to get through the tedious military life. However, they found the bitter and strong espresso difficult to accept, so they diluted it with water to reach a drinkable concentration. Later, as more Italians opened cafes in America, they "followed local customs" to cater to local tastes and introduced "watered coffee" based on espresso, which became very popular.
Does Americano Coffee Taste Bitter?
The taste of Americano depends on the espresso beans used, and the flavor and texture expressed by the beans used in each coffee shop are different. Compared to the classic bitter Americano at many establishments, FrontStreet Coffee's espresso is made from their house-roasted "Sunflower Warm Sun Blend Coffee Beans," composed of Honduras Sherry coffee beans plus natural-processed Yirgacheffe Red Cherry coffee beans.
FrontStreet Coffee's store uses 20 grams of coffee grounds to extract 40 grams of espresso liquid for their Americano. The produced espresso carries flavors of whiskey, vanilla, cream, and tropical fruits. FrontStreet Coffee, after multiple trials and adjustments, ultimately chose an espresso-to-water ratio of 1:4.5, meaning 40 grams of coffee liquid is poured into a cup containing 180 grams of 88°C hot water, and the hot Americano is complete.
For iced Americano, the hot water is replaced with 75 grams of ice cubes and 120 grams of room temperature water, with the best taste before the ice melts. FrontStreet Coffee's iced Americano has flavors of vanilla cream, chocolate, and berries, with a refreshing taste that cools and refreshes, making it a very popular coffee choice during hot summer days.
FrontStreet Coffee's Espresso Blend Selection
Besides the Warm Sun Blend, FrontStreet Coffee also has three espresso blend coffee beans with rich flavors and balanced textures, which are also very suitable for making Americano.
1. FrontStreet Coffee - Premium Blend Coffee Beans:
Colombian Washed Coffee Beans (30%) + Brazilian Natural Process Coffee Beans (70%), featuring nut, dark chocolate, and caramel flavor profiles.
2. FrontStreet Coffee - Commercial Blend Coffee Beans:

3. FrontStreet Coffee - Basic Blend Coffee Beans:

Can Americano Coffee Help with Weight Loss?
The caffeine in Americano not only helps eliminate body edema but also, due to its very low calorie content, can increase the body's metabolism. Drinking it an hour before exercise also helps burn fat, making it one of the beverages recommended by many fitness enthusiasts. However, FrontStreet Coffee still needs to remind everyone that only pure Americano has certain effects. If you add syrup, condensed milk, or creamer to Americano, it will bring additional calories, and long-term consumption is not beneficial to our health.
Is Americano Coffee Healthy?
Whether Americano is healthy is an enduring global topic, but the current medical consensus is that moderate consumption of Americano has no adverse effects on health, nor does it increase the risk of certain cancers, and may even be beneficial to the body. FrontStreet Coffee suggests that no more than 3 cups of Americano (or black coffee) per day is beneficial and harmless to the body, but this should also be combined with each individual's physical constitution. When we experience insomnia, gastrointestinal discomfort, or other conditions after drinking coffee, we should not consume excessive amounts of caffeine.
