FrontStreet Coffee's Ethiopia Bita Estate coffee beans are carefully selected from naturally processed coffee beans, and we are delighted to offer another sun-dried processed coffee bean this year. In 2015, FrontStreet Coffee's Ethiopia Kaffa Bita Estate coffee was selected as partners' favorite coffee bean, and we are extremely excited to offer this coffee to you.
The Origin of Coffee
In the Kaffa region of Ethiopia, Arabica bushes grow in the wild, creating what can truly be called coffee forests. One day a thousand years ago, curious goats bit into coffee cherries and experienced a surge of excitement and energy. After witnessing this, the shepherd tried to experience the magic of coffee cherries himself, and thus coffee was discovered. To this day, Bita Estate remains one of the oldest and most renowned coffee-producing regions. Our green coffee purchasing experts embarked on a two-day coffee journey deep into the mountains, navigating steep and muddy mountain roads to witness wild coffee trees connected to their Arabica lineage—truly legendary treasures from coffee folklore. With the launch of this small-batch coffee's unique flavor profile, you will be able to experience more extraordinary coffee flavors, each with its own story.
Wild Forest Origins
Originating from the most primitive Kaffa wild jungles of Ethiopia, the coffee trees planted in these forests are part of the wild forest ecosystem, growing naturally under the protection of rainforest trees, where fallen leaves and branches serve as the best natural organic fertilizer.
The Birthplace of Coffee
Many believe Ethiopia to be the birthplace of coffee, as the first coffee tree was discovered in ancient "Abyssinia," which is modern-day Ethiopia. The region where these trees flower is called "Kaffa," and the trees are called "Kafa"—this might be the most original pronunciation of coffee.
