Perfect Brew Guide: How to Make Jamaican Clydesdale Estate Blue Mountain No.1 Taste Exceptional
Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee: The Crown Jewel of Premium Coffee
The Jamaica Coffee Industry Board (CIB) is the regulatory authority for 100% authentic Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, established to ensure the highest quality exports of Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee. Jamaica became the world's first country to establish legally designated geographical coffee cultivation regions as a specific coffee brand. This is similar to the "Appellation d'Origine Controlleé" (AOC) quality certification established by the French Wine Association. Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee certification is led by the official Coffee Industry Board, where green coffee beans from designated regions must undergo rigorous inspection by quality assurance testing experts following standard procedures. Within the approximately 28,000 mu (about 4,600 acres) designated cultivation area, only about 9,000 mu (approximately 1,500 acres) can obtain certification quotas, meaning that less than one-third of annual submissions receive official certification and are packed in various wooden barrels for export worldwide under the 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain brand. Many connoisseurs from around the world agree that Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee is the finest coffee in the world, with delicate multi-layered aromas, full-bodied flavor, remarkably clean fruit acidity, and a sweet, lingering aftertaste—it is truly a unique bean!
CLYDESDALE Estate: The Heart of Blue Mountains
CLYDESDALE Estate is owned by the Sharp Family and is now operated by the fourth generation of the family. The estate is situated in St. Andrew Parish in the southwest, with an average altitude of approximately 1,000 meters. This area is also Jamaica's largest national park and forest protected area. Jamaica's designated cultivation region extends outward from this central point, earning it the title "At the Heart of the Blue Mountains." Clydesdale Estate was established in the late 18th century when Dr. Colin McClarty, a British scholar, visited this region and was so captivated by the environment and scenery that he decided to settle here, establishing the estate and beginning coffee cultivation. The area's excellent natural growing conditions produced exceptionally high-quality coffee, with the first coffee bean exports beginning in 1700.
To this day, "Clydesdale Estate" represents high-quality Typica coffee grown in the original cultivation area and surrounding specific regions, continuing the excellent tradition. This ancient growing region on the southern slopes of the Blue Mountain range will continue to produce the most exceptional Blue Mountain Coffee to enchant the world.
