Wallenford Estate
Today, we introduce the Blue Mountain coffee from Jamaica's Blue Mountain Wallenford Estate. As direct importers of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, we primarily work with the Clifton Estate and Wallenford Estate. Since Clifton is the only Blue Mountain estate in Jamaica with tropical rainforest certification and uses processing methods specified by our requirements, its flavor profile differs from other Blue Mountain farms. Meanwhile, Wallenford uses traditional Blue Mountain coffee processing methods and is also one of the higher-altitude farms in Jamaica, so the Blue Mountain No. 1 from these two estates each has its unique characteristics. Interested friends can try comparing and tasting them.
Historical Timeline
Wallenford Estate existed from 1801 to 1842.
From 1801 to 1825, the first-generation estate owner was Colin McClarty, and the second-generation owner was his son Alexander McClarty.
From 1825 to 1842, the estate's management was transferred to the third-generation owner Alexander Campbell.
After 1842, records about this estate could not be traced, and Wallenford Estate disappeared from history.
Today, only the abandoned buildings of the coffee grinding factory from that time can be seen locally.
Revival of the Brand
The ones who revived this ancient brand were the Sharp family's coffee trading company. Father - Florence Sharp, eldest son - Richard Sharp, second son - Jason Sharp. They purchase fresh coffee cherries from farmers near the Wallenford Estate and process them for grinding and barrel packaging at the B.M.C.P factory operated by Coffee Trading Co., Ltd. Our Japanese parent company, ATAKA & CO., LTD., has also invested partially in the B.M.C.P factory.
In summary, Wallenford is now not just the name of an estate but also a famous coffee brand. It is Blue Mountain No. 1 coffee where coffee cherries are purchased by the Sharp family's Coffee Trading Co., Ltd., processed and produced by the B.M.C.P factory, and exclusively bought out by Japan's ATAKA & CO., LTD.

Authentic Blue Mountain Coffee Flavor Profile
The taste is exceptionally clean, and it's one of the sweetest coffees in the world. This flavor has been described by Jim Reynolds in Peet's Coffee and Tea: "The finest example of Jamaica's Blue Mountain coffee has fragrance, smooth richness, and it gives me the feeling of gem-like quality. It's as precious as a gemstone. It's complex yet very gentle, it's sweet, it has very strong body. You must taste it to know what I'm talking about."
Unique growing conditions and meticulous attention throughout all production processes have made Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee very famous. The flavor is rich and mellow, with perfect balance of coffee's sweetness, acidity, and bitterness - completely without bitterness, with only moderate and perfect acidity, and lasting fruit notes.
