Sidamo Guji Lion King G1 Washed
Sidamo grows in the southernmost Ethiopian highlands at altitudes between 4600-7200 feet (Sidamo Province). It is a famous specialty coffee region in southern Ethiopia, bordering Kenya, located southeast of Jimma and directly south of the capital. It typically exhibits distinct sweetness and is favored by many people. The annual production is approximately 225,000 bags of 60kg. The beans are slightly smaller than Longberry, greenish-gray. In Sidamo's sun-drying fields, coffee is placed in hemp nets on wooden racks, and workers manually stir the coffee under sunlight. Sun-dried Sidamo is usually exported as G4, while washed Sidamo is mostly exported as G2 grade due to the more refined processing compared to sun-drying.

We have conducted secondary screening of the coffee, and this selected batch exhibits excellent flavor performance, with flavor tendencies toward honey, citrus, and coffee flower aroma.
Sidamo coffee flavors are extremely diverse, with different soil types, microclimates, and countless native coffee varieties creating distinct differences and characteristics in coffee produced by various towns. In the 2010-2012 period, it continuously achieved high scores of 92-94 on the authoritative American coffee evaluation website CR. This demonstrates the extraordinary nature of green beans from this production region. The area features towering mountains, highlands, plateaus, valleys, and plains, with diverse topography. The local geology consists of fertile, well-drained volcanic soil, with soil depth nearly two meters, and surface soil appearing dark brown or brown. The greatest advantage of this area is that soil fertility is maintained through organic matter recycling, using fallen leaves from surrounding trees or plant residues as fertilizer.
How to Brew Sidamo Coffee [Guji Lion King G1 Washed] Well?
FrontStreet Coffee Hand Brew Reference: Weigh 15g of [Guji Lion King G1 Washed] coffee powder, pour into a grinder for medium grinding. The ground particles should be slightly coarser than table salt. We use BG grinder setting 5R (standard sieve pass rate 60%), water temperature 90°C, extracted with a V60 dripper.
Using the hot water from the pour-over kettle, draw circles clockwise centered on the middle of the filter cup. Start timing when brewing begins. Brew the coffee to 30g within 15 seconds, then stop pouring water. When the time reaches 1 minute, pour water for the second time. During the second pour, like before, draw circles clockwise centered on the middle of the filter cup. The water stream should not hit the area where coffee powder meets the filter paper to avoid channeling effects.
When brewing to the outermost circle of coffee powder, leave a circle, then brew circle by circle toward the center. At 2 minutes and 20 seconds, brew the coffee to 220g. Coffee brewing is complete.
