Treasure Estate (Finca La Guaca) is located in the beautiful Branca region, approximately 150 kilometers southeast of San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, in a remote coffee-producing area. The estate is named "Treasure" because, according to legend, local indigenous people buried a treasure here long ago that has never been found, giving it a mysterious charm and cultural significance connected to local heritage.

Treasure Estate continuously improves its farming and processing methods. Several years ago, it began participating in Costa Rica's Cup of Excellence (COE) competition, achieving an impressive 33rd place in 2015! In 2016, it hosted its first visit from an SCAA roaster camp team, establishing genuine connections with international specialty coffee buyers.

The current owner of Costa Rica's Treasure Estate is Mr. Régulo Gerardo Ureña Chacón. For over 26 years, Régulo has dedicated his life to the coffee industry. He learned coffee cultivation knowledge and skills from his father in his youth and purchased Treasure Estate Finca La Guaca 25 years ago. Together with his wife Isabel and sons' passion for coffee, he established their own washing station Café Rivense del Chirripó S.A., where all coffee is naturally sun-dried.

Régulo aims to create a sustainable coffee industry that allows various organisms to continue thriving in the estate. In addition to preserving native tree species, he has planted numerous fruit trees to provide habitat for various birds to settle and breed. He implements soil and water conservation to protect springs and waterfalls, and has received the Ecologic Blue Flag award for two consecutive years. The estate is situated between two important mountain ranges, Cerro de la Muerte and Cerro Chirripó (the highest peak in Costa Rica), at an altitude of 1,600 meters. The natural environment in this area is exceptionally suitable for growing specialty coffee.
