This coffee bean represents one of Colombia's finest specialty coffees, originating from the Sierra Nevada mountain range. "Sierra Nevada" is Spanish for "snow-covered mountain range," and coffee beans from this region are commonly named "Snow Cap."
The Sierra Nevada reaches an altitude of 5,700 meters with year-round snow cover at its summit. Coffee is primarily cultivated at 1,500 meters elevation. The producers are local American Indian tribes - the "Kogui" (the presence of "Kogui" on the coffee name and burlap bags indicates coffee grown and produced by this tribe).
Particularly noteworthy is that coffee produced in this region benefits from its unique geographical advantages, using melted snow water from the mountain peaks for irrigation and post-harvest washing processes, giving this coffee its distinctive flavor profile.
