Honduras: Ideal Land for Coffee Growing
Honduras is located in northern Central America, bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the north, the Gulf of Fonseca in the Pacific Ocean to the south, Nicaragua and El Salvador to the east and south, and Guatemala to the west. It is mostly mountainous and plateau terrain. With a tropical climate featuring mild temperatures and abundant rainfall, it is an ideal place for coffee cultivation.
Flavor Profile of Honduran Coffee
Honduran coffee has a rich, mellow taste that is neither astringent nor acidic, with high levels of body and aroma, making it quite distinctive. Honduran coffee can reveal multi-layered flavors depending on the degree of roasting. Medium roasting can bring out the sweetness of the beans to the extreme, while dark roasting enhances bitterness, but the sweetness does not disappear. Generally, medium roasting offers the best taste, with rich and unique aroma, highly favored by Honduran coffee enthusiasts.
Coffee Growing Regions
Honduran coffee is divided into six major growing regions, spread across the western and southern areas: Copan, Opalaca, Montecillos, Comayagua, Agalta Tropical, and El Paraiso. The tempering of harsh terrain and climate, combined with fertile soil, gives coffee beans a special rich, bittersweet cocoa aroma. Hondurans are optimistic, cheerful, and love life. The sweet and gentle Honduran coffee brings you inspiration for happiness in life.
San Miguel Processing Plant
Located in the El Paraíso province of Honduras, the San Miguel processing plant can handle 50,000 pounds of coffee beans daily. Arabica coffee trees grow at an altitude of 4,300 feet. The coffee plantation grows various annual crop varieties, including Catuai, Lempira, IHCAFE-90 (from the Honduran Coffee Institute), and Catimor.
Commitment to Quality
Coffee lovers are dedicated to providing the best coffee service, engaging in standardized production with the strictest quality standards. Through vertical integration from coffee cultivation to processing and roasting expertise, they monitor every step from seedling cultivation to finished cup products. They hope to bring customers a unique and enjoyable coffee experience as a natural coffee production center.
Parainema Variety
Parainema coffee trees are small shrubs. Due to differences in their genetic lineage, the leaf tips may be green, yellow, or a mixture of both colors. This batch of green coffee beans, processed by San Vicente Processing Plant—a frequent winner in Honduras Cup of Excellence—fully presents high sweetness and excellent fruit-like flavors.
Producer Excellence
The producer, the Sacastume family, owns a micro-farm where the coffee berries have won the 2017 Cup of Excellence championship due to their high quality and excellent flavor, becoming representative of high-quality coffee in the Santa Barbara region.
