Peru · Chontali
Many people are not very optimistic about Peru's specialty coffee, but little do they know that Peruvian specialty coffee has been working hard to become better.
The Cajamarca province is precisely such a place that produces high-quality coffee. Not long ago, Ming shared Peru · Alirio, which comes from here. And today's protagonist - Peru · Chontali - also comes from this magical province.
Chontali is a small town located in the Chunchucas Valley of Cajamarca province. The surrounding land elevation ranges from 1,200 to 2,100 meters. The mountains of Chontali are steep, but the slopes become gentler towards the top, which allows for coffee cultivation. Meanwhile, the soil pH value is optimal for coffee agricultural development, but in steeper areas, soil erosion can be a problem. Therefore, some farmers level their land to protect the soil.
In the 1950s, Chontali began cultivating coffee, and since then, the region has flourished with steadily increasing production. Coffee farmers here have an average of 2 to 3 hectares of coffee cultivation land, and they harvest mature cherries from June to October.
But this is far from enough. To obtain higher quality coffee beans, Aladino Delgado led the region's coffee growers to continuously strive, and finally, this selection of Peru · Chontali was achieved.
It is precisely because Aladino Delgado is willing to accept training in coffee production and processing together with local suppliers and other growers that the quality of Chontali's coffee continues to improve.
After all, for them, never enough.

Peru · Chontali Card Design
The card design is inspired by the coffee craftsmanship passed down through generations in Chontali, a remote Peruvian town. This coffee originates from small farms and a group of growers who depend on the coffee industry for their livelihood. The close connection between coffee and people has profoundly influenced the artistic form and design of the label, which uses a circular format to showcase the growers' hands, expressing the self-sufficient nature of the region. The card's color palette comes from ancient Peruvian textiles, while the typography is inspired by hand-painted mural works from Peruvian artists.
Previously, Chontali had already met everyone at Starbucks Reserve.
This time, it's its third appearance.
