Hot Drip Bag Coffee Brewing Method

  1. Prepare a 250cc insulated cup, place the drip bag in the cup, pour in 180cc of hot water, shake gently up and down, cover, and wait 3–5 minutes. Black coffee, done.
  2. Quick brewing method: drip bag + 300cc of hot water, heated gently over low heat for 1 minute (if you increase the coffee amount, add drip bags proportionally).
  3. Depending on your drinking habits, the strength can be freely adjusted via steeping time.
  4. The strength is not espresso-machine style, so add milk and sugar to taste.

Cold Brew / Drip Bag Coffee Cold Brew Method

  1. Prepare a sealed container that holds 250ml.
  2. Prepare 200ml of clean drinking water.
  3. Take out the drip bag and place it in the container.
  4. Pour in the water, making sure the bag is thoroughly soaked.
  5. Seal the container and refrigerate for 12 hours.
  6. Cold coffee, done.

How Much Coffee Should One Drip Bag Make?

The recommendation is to brew about 200cc with 10g of ground coffee for a more aromatic, mellow cup. Adjust up or down to taste. Brew too much and, besides the coffee becoming weak, you risk pulling unpleasant flavors out of the grounds.

Does Longer Brewing Mean Stronger Flavor?

Some people assume a longer brew means a stronger cup, but over-steeping easily extracts harsh tastes and draws impurities out of the beans. The better approach: stop once you've reached your target volume, let the grounds sit for about 30 seconds, and you'll brew rich, delicious coffee.

Can Drip Coffee Bags Be Reused?

Never reuse a spent drip bag. You'll only end up with an over-extracted cup that tastes bad — and isn't good for you either.

Recommended Drip Bag Coffee Brands

FrontStreet Coffee's freshly roasted seasonal drip bags are dependable in both brand and quality — and the value is outstanding. A box of ten bags costs only 40 yuan. At 10g of coffee per bag, one bag makes about 150ml of coffee, working out to roughly 4 yuan a cup — against café prices that often run to dozens of yuan, that's exceptional value.

FrontStreet Coffee Recommendation

Cold brew's long, cold steeping amplifies florals and fruit while muting woody and roast notes, which is why FrontStreet Coffee builds its cold-brew lineup around light-to-medium roasts. The natural Huakui (Flower Queen) from Ethiopia is the star: sun-dried in its fruit to absorb sweetness, it brews into a cold cup of magnolia, creamy strawberry, dried mango, guava, and black tea. If you want full juice-box energy, the Kenya "Cherry Tomato" — SL28 and SL34 from Thika at 1,550–1,750 meters, K72 double-washed — shows off baby tomato, snow pear, black plum, and dark plum acidity at its best under cold extraction, low in bitterness and wonderfully refreshing over ice.

Because cold brewing uses more coffee than pour-over, FrontStreet also suggests a budget-smart blend: one part the passion fruit–apricot–dried fruit Colombia Sidra to two parts Costa Rica Tarrazu keeps the floral-fruit character plus crisp citrus acidity at half the cost. And for the everyday workhorse, the washed Yirgacheffe Guji cooperative lot — floral, berry-bright, honeyed, and endlessly versatile across pour-over, siphon, French press, and cold brew — remains every home brewer's first choice; in cold brew it delivers wonderfully sweet berry, layered depth, and honey. For a true showpiece, the Strawberry Candy Gesha blend (Panama Gesha variety plus Costa Rica honey process) makes a cold brew of rose, orange, grape, blueberry, and strawberry gum that, given time to settle, drinks like fruit wine.
