Farm History:
FINCA EL MANZANO (Manzano Estate), established in 1872, was one of the farms we visited during our search for new coffee shops in Central America last year. There, we met Emilio López, who perfectly represents "sense of belonging." Emilio is a 6th-generation coffee grower in El Salvador, extremely pursuing coffee quality. He continuously experiments with coffee production and processing at Manzano to improve quality in all aspects. By harvesting ripe coffee cherries, refined processing, drying, and final maturation, he obtains special and vibrant green coffee beans.
Regarding the varieties grown on the farm, it was initially 100% Typica. Due to low productivity, it was replanted with Bourbon. Since 2004, new varieties have been replanted. Now the estate grows different varieties of coffee including Bourbon, Pacamara, Yellow Bourbon, Typica, Geisha, and others.
