Costa Rica's Coffee Growing Regions

Costa Rica's seven main coffee growing regions are distributed from northwest to southeast along the inland central highlands.

The country's volcanic terrain provides fertile volcanic ash, mild and suitable temperatures, and stable, abundant rainfall - all factors contributing to coffee becoming one of Costa Rica's main agricultural products.

Since Costa Rica's coffee industry began developing in the mid-18th century, it was the first country in Central America to receive coffee cultivation. With this long history, the country has established a complete system from production to sales.

In terms of both quality and quantity, Costa Rica's coffee has consistently received worldwide recognition and has been evaluated as world-class high-quality coffee.

Honey Processing Method

The honey processing method, also known as Honey Process or Miel Process, produces what's called Honey Coffee. Coffee farms in Costa Rica, Panama, and Guatemala use this processing method. The so-called honey processing refers to the production process of drying coffee beans with their mucilage still intact under sunlight.
