Fazenda Capim Branco

Fazenda Capim Branco in Brazil is one of the oldest coffee estates in the country, with its history dating back to 1901.

Great coffee begins with the producer, and Eduardo Andrade's family has spent generations perfecting their methods to grow the highest quality coffee. Fazenda Capim Branco has belonged to the Andrade family since 1901 and is one of Brazil's oldest specialty coffee farms. It is located in the Cerrado Mineiro region of northern Minas Gerais, near Carmo de Paranaiba in the state of Bahia. This was Brazil's first coffee-producing region to receive a designation of origin, similar to famous wine-producing regions.

The Cerrado Mineiro region has an altitude of 1,100 to 1,250 meters and provides ideal conditions for coffee production due to the perfect balance of dry and wet seasons. The soil at Fazenda Capim Branco is volcanic, and most of the farm is planted with the Yellow Catuaí variety, which thrives in this environment. Careful management, such as that executed by the Andrade family, allows coffee flowering and maturation times to be relatively uniform, creating good conditions for processing coffee using natural methods. In this process, ripe cherries are dried on patios, producing sweet, fruity coffee. Once the beans reach the desired moisture content, they are dry-milled to remove the dried fruit pulp and parchment, then sorted and screened for export.

Combining the region's natural conditions, fine crop management, forward-looking crop planning, and post-harvest refinement, the coffee from the Andrade family farms is high-quality, award-winning, and appreciated worldwide.
