Introduction: Nekisse coffee beans originally originate from Shakisso, Ethiopia. This coffee bean is named "Nekisse" after "nectar (NAKED) from the Shakisso region." It is processed using traditional natural drying methods, placing cherries on high raised beds to sun-dry, then removing the dried pulp and fruit flesh, and finally sending them to Addis Ababa for hulling. The flavor profile at that time had very intense berry jam, creamy consistency, citrus, and tropical fruits. Later, the growing region was moved to Wellega and Sidama because they discovered that the Sidama region could produce even better nectar and jam sensations.

Introduction to Ninety Plus

Ninety Plus is an internationally renowned coffee bean production and sales company, known worldwide for providing rare and unique green coffee beans. In addition to direct cooperation with coffee farmers, they also own a 134-hectare coffee estate in Panama. Founded in 2007, their customer base now spans over 40 countries worldwide.

In 2007, Joseph Brodsky formally established Ninety Plus. Starting from the following year until now, we can see traces of Ninety Plus winners in coffee competitions of all sizes around the world. In last year's 2013 WBC World Barista Championship, among the six finalists, contestants from Italy, South Korea, and Canada used Ninety Plus green beans. Exquisite green bean cultivation and processing, excellent coffee varieties, and a unique grading system have made Ninety Plus a top-tier and distinctive representative in the green bean market. Adhering to the philosophy of providing high-quality green beans, FrontStreet Coffee became the exclusive agent for Ninety Plus in 2014 - these are exceptional green beans you absolutely cannot miss.

In 2004, the rise of Panama Geisha created a worldwide trend of searching for excellent varieties. Joseph Brodsky, like other green bean industry professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts, traveled deep into the remote mountainous areas of Ethiopia, searching for Geisha varieties in the wild, primitive forests where coffee originated. Although he couldn't achieve his goal, he believed that among so many native variety forests, there still existed many excellent, unknown native varieties. Perhaps they hadn't been discovered due to their remote locations, or they hadn't been unearthed because they lacked meticulous processing and cultivation. Therefore, the following year, Joseph Brodsky immediately invested significant effort in Ethiopia, searching for valuable coffee bean varieties and cooperating with local estates to improve and refine the green bean processing process, establishing the Profile Processing system for green beans, allowing each bean to fully express its complete flavor. In 2009, Joseph Brodsky began planting Ethiopian native Geisha varieties in Panama, purchasing land and creating the "Ninety Plus Geisha Estate" while simultaneously building the Ninety Plus Sensory Room. In recent years, they developed the Solkiln™ special processing method. Ninety Plus, which has continuously innovated in every aspect of green bean processing, leads the way in the specialty coffee market.

Ninety Plus's Exquisite Green Bean Cultivation and Processing

Profile Processing System

The Profile Processing system is tailor-made for each bean, covering planting, harvesting, processing, and other procedures. Through repeated cupping and calibration, it ensures that each coffee variety fully expresses its unique fruit flavors.

Solkiln™ Special Processing Method

In 2013, they pioneered the Solkiln™ special processing method, using wood drying rooms to dry coffee beans. After wood is cut, it is typically placed in wood drying rooms where temperature, humidity, and air circulation are controlled and adjusted to reduce the wood's moisture content to 10-12%. Joseph Brodsky applied this exact same concept to create the new Solkiln™ (SK) special processing method, and in 2013 officially launched two premium green bean products: Lotus Solkiln H2 and Silvia Solkiln N2.

SK = Solkiln™

Ninety Plus's Excellent Coffee Varieties

In 2004, Joseph Brodsky's coffee career began with the search for the most excellent Geisha varieties. He selected native varieties (Heirlooms) with excellent flavors in Ethiopia and planted Ethiopian native Geisha (Heirlooms Geisha) at the NPGE (Ninety Plus Geisha Estate) in Panama.

Ninety Plus's Unique Flavor Grading and Code Grading

Ninety Plus coffee is classified according to "fruit flavor intensity," different from traditional processing method classifications of washed, honey, and natural. Similarly divided into three categories W2, H2, N2, but different processing methods create different levels of fruit flavors, so you might encounter naturally processed or washed processed coffee beans in the honey-processed flavor "H2" classification.

W2 = Washed flavor

H2 = Honey-processed flavor

N2 = Natural processed flavor

Ninety Plus Coffee is a very famous American green bean supplier in recent years, specializing in Ethiopia Microlots. Previously famous varieties like Aricha, Beloya, and Nekisse were all discovered by this company!
