Small-Batch Premium Micro-Lot Honduran Coffee Beans

Honduras has a long history of coffee development, but over a decade ago, it was positioned merely as unremarkable commercial blend beans, flooding the market with large quantities at low prices. In reality, Honduras possesses excellent conditions for growing quality coffee: microclimates, altitude, soil, abundant rainfall, distinct dry and rainy seasons, and diligent farmers. However, long-standing issues with drying processes and logistics have affected coffee quality.

In recent years, as the Honduran government recognized the specialty coffee market, it has gradually invested in revitalization efforts to boost the country's coffee industry, focusing on high-quality coffee to improve farmers' incomes. Honduran coffee farmers, through exposure to international Cup of Excellence competition platforms, have also begun actively improving their practices, gradually changing buyers' stereotypical impressions of Honduran coffee with better quality. Honduras is currently the largest coffee-producing country in Central America.

One major reason Honduran coffee beans were previously considered bland and unremarkable was the drying process. Due to abundant and unpredictable rainfall in mountainous regions, green beans could not be properly dried during the final stage of processing. Therefore, most processing facilities would combine with mechanical rapid drying, which not only affects preservation but also causes the loss of coffee flavor.

This particular coffee is processed using the washed method. After completing the washed fermentation, it is soaked in clean water for 12-18 hours, which can more thoroughly remove mucilage, making the coffee cleaner.

Honduran Coffee Bean Brand Recommendations

FrontStreet Coffee's roasted Honduran coffee beans offer excellent guarantees in both brand and quality. More importantly, they provide exceptional value-for-money: a 227-gram box costs only 72 yuan. Calculating at 15 grams of coffee per cup, one package can make 15 cups, with each cup costing only about 5.4 yuan. Compared to the typical prices of tens of yuan per cup sold in coffee shops, this is truly a conscientious recommendation.
